The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Central Park Zoo

The Central Park Zoo is a 6.5-acre zoo located at the southeast corner of Central Park in New York City. It is part of an integrated system of four zoos and one aquarium managed by the Wildlife Conservation Society. This tranquil oasis in the heart of Manhattan is one of the most idyllic locations in New York City. Whether sipping cocktails while sea lions glide gracefully through the water, or strolling through the lush gardens taking in the elegant architecture, you and your guests will be inspired by the exotic wildlife and breathtaking city skyline views.

The zoo boasts a unique, outdoor event space that is perfect for both cocktail receptions and seated dinners. This open space has the flexibility to accommodate a variety of event layouts. A nearly 200’ long, clear-top seasonal tent is included in the site fee, with options to add-on connecting tents for those events with larger guest counts; up to 700-seated. The moss-covered colonnades also provide for additional covered space, as well as a tranquil backdrop to any photo. Exclusive access to exhibits are available, based on sunset times. The Central Park Zoo is much more than just a zoo, it’s a premiere event location!

The Museum of Modern Art

 

Founded in 1929, The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in midtown Manhattan was the first museum devoted to the modern era. Today MoMA’s rich and varied collection offers a panoramic overview of modern and contemporary art, from the innovative European painting and sculpture of the 1880s to today’s film, design, and performance art. From an initial gift of eight prints and one drawing, the collection has grown to include over 150,000 paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints, photographs. Collection highlights include Claude Monet’s Water Lilies, Vincent van Gogh’s The Starry Night, and Pablo Picasso’s Les Demoiselles d’Avignon, along with more recent works by Andy Warhol, Elizabeth Murray, Cindy Sherman, and many others.

There are several indoor spaces that can accommodate 350-600 guests seated. The Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden is ideal for large-scale receptions during the spring and summer seasons. Designed by the renowned architect Philip Johnson for the display of outstanding sculptures from the MoMA collection, the Sculpture Garden is a magnificent outdoor courtyard featuring beautiful landscaping and seasonal horticulture. Able to hold a deceptively large number of guests,  it’s maximum capacity for a reception: 1,500.

MoMA also houses four state-of-the-art theaters ranging in capacity from 50 to 400 seats, each with first-rate film and video projection capabilities. Our theaters are the perfect venue for red carpet premieres and film screenings, as well as corporate meetings and conferences. Capabilities: 35mm, 16mm, Dolby Digital Cinema Package, Digibeta, HDCam, DVD, and VHS projection.

 

 

 

 

 

The New York Historical Society 

 

The New-York Historical Society is New York’s first museum. A great destination for history since 1804, the Museum and the Patricia D. Klingenstein Library convey the stories of the city and nation’s diverse populations, expanding our understanding of who we are as Americans and how we came to be.  Located across from Central Park in the heart of the vibrant Upper West Side, New-York Historical is an iconic landmark building with numerous gallery spaces to rent that accommodate a wide variety of events.

The spaces available for events are varied including exhibit halls, art galleries (one of which contains the largest Picasso on display in North America), and a state of the art auditorium with in-house AV support. Also available are The Gallery of Tiffany lamps (a stunning display of 100 illuminated Tiffany lamps in a two-level, dramatically-lit space that’s connected by a glowing glass staircase), and the Patricia D. Klingenstein Library (which boasts beautiful neoclassical architecture; soaring, 50-foot ceilings; and magnificent stained-glass windows that were gifted to the Society l in 1908).

 

 

 

 

The Intrepid

The Intrepid Museum (originally the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum) is an American Military and Maritime History Museum. Located at Pier 86th and 46th street, along the Hudson River the museum is composed of exhibits, aircraft, and space craft aboard the USS Intrepid, a World War II-era aircraft carrier as well as cruise missile submarine named USS Growler and exhibits on Pier 86.  Intrepid Museum boasts 13 customizable venue spaces offering endless possibilities, from grand galas to intimate gatherings. The Intrepid is proud to be one of the few venues in the city with the ability to host events from 20 to 5,000 people with both indoor and outdoor options.
