Are small and intimate weddings a new trend and possibly here to stay? The Pandemic has dictated what we can and cannot do but it cannot take away family celebrations regardless of how small.
Love is not cancelled as they say.
Some brides may of course continue to dream of their fairytale wedding and want hundreds of guests on their big day, and some may decide to keep the trend small and intimate. This bride and groom had a small wedding and in Sarah’s eyes…it was still a fairytale. Sarah loved capturing the city lights during the family portraits and created a “bokeh effect which was SO COOL! Bokeh is defined as “the effect of soft out-of-focus background that you get when photographing a subject, using a fast lens, at the widest aperture, such as f 2/8 or wider”. Check it out!
This wedding at The Envue Hotel in Weehawken was captured by Sarah last November 2020. This couple did not want to wait to get married and will have their big party in November 2021! There were 60 guests allowed and it was outside overlooking Manhattan. It was a perfect evening.
Sarah arrived in New Jersey so excited to work as weddings were few and far between because of Covid 19. Sarah had photographed the groom’s sister’s wedding a few years ago and was so excited to see the family again. We loved all wearing masks and staying safe. Sarah of course wore her two masked and practiced social distancing throughout the wedding. Even the makeup artists practiced safety as well.
Check out the flowers and magnificent Chuppah designed by John of Spitz and Peck. There was a DJ for the party, and it was great to work with vendors and be part of a team again!!! The first look was on the terrace underneath the stars. It could not have been more romantic! We just LOVE the couple’s dog who came for the ceremony. He had a bowtie on as well.
It is such a joy to see grandparents and all the generations together even if mask wearing is required. Just look at how happy this groom is with his grandparents! Custom masks are now part of every escort card table and a new wedding trend.
Even though this wedding was a micro wedding it had macro love and we cannot wait to design a beautiful wedding album and celebrate in the fall of 2021! Mazel Tov to Jamie and Daniel on becoming husband and wife through a crazy pandemic!!!
